This resource addresses the Australian Curriculum numeracy capability and science inquiry skills and contains activities that are based understandings related to the Australian Curriculum chemical sciences (energy stored in sugar) for year 8 science students. There is a link to a first-hand activity in which students react vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to make a small explosion ('bubble 07 diversion grenades').
