This teacher resource describes how a cluster of four primary schools in Launceston, Tasmania, worked together to explore the potential of mobile technologies to engage reluctant and low-achieving readers in year 6. The program they developed exposed students to a range of multimodal texts, developed their understanding of inference, and provided opportunities for online collaborative communication and for working with year 9 reading mentors.
